Tricky comparison is excellent — I’ve batted an idea about the Weeknd et al.’s popularity being some kind of a trip-hop retread (or, hell, an Enigma retread, but that doesn’t quite fit musically, just in how people respond to the music) and headed for the same eventual coffee-shop soundtrack diss status.
